FAQ
Is this compatible with ATF eForms?
Yes. The files we generate adhere strictly to the FBI's EBTS specifications, which is the exact standard required for ATF eForm uploads.
Do I need a special scanner?
No. Any flatbed scanner that can scan at 500 DPI (dots per inch) will work. Most home office printers/scanners have the capability to scan at 600 DPI or higher.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use a privacy-first architecture where your sensitive personal information (SSN, etc.) is processed entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly. It is never sent to our servers. Images you upload can be deleted at any time from your dashboard. Any images processed by our servers are encrypted and automatically deleted after 30 days.
Will other vendors accept the generated EFT file?
Maybe. Some vendors systems are too old to accept Type-14 records, which are the latest format for fingerprints in the EBTS specification. We give you the option to download EFT files that contain Type-14 records or Type-4 records (legacy). Vendors should accept at least one of these formats.
I don't have a scanner. Can I use my phone?
As long as an image has a resolution of 500 PPI (approximately 4000x4000 pixels for a cropped FD-258 card) or higher, we can generate an EFT file from it. We highly recommend using a flatbed scanner, but if your smartphone can take a high resolution photo without distortion you may be able to use it.
