Standard FBI EBTS Format
EFT files are built strictly to the FBI Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS) format required by the ATF eForms portal. Your files upload directly to the ATF without formatting errors.

Are the files accepted by the ATF eForms portal?
Yes. SLAP & ROLL generates EBTS-compliant EFT files that the ATF eForms system accepts. Both Type-14 (newer variable-resolution) and Type-4 (older fixed 500 PPI) record formats are supported.
What about my customer's personal data?
Name, SSN, and date of birth are entered in the browser and compiled into the EFT file locally using WebAssembly. These details never touch our servers. The fingerprint card scan is sent securely to our servers for processing and quality check, and is deleted automatically. Since biographical details are processed digitally, you don't need to write sensitive personal info on the physical card, keeping your shop free of paper records containing customer SSNs or dates of birth.
Do I need a special scanner?
No. Any flatbed scanner capable of 500+ DPI. Most consumer all-in-one printers handle 600 DPI easily. We don't sell hardware.
Can I try it before committing?
Yes. Every account gets unlimited free uploads and quality checks - upload a card, see the NFIQ scores, and walk through the whole workflow at zero cost. To test full EFT generation without a subscription, the Pay As You Go option is $20 per file.
What if I only do a few conversions a month?
That's the whole point. A kiosk can't pay for itself under 50 transfers a month. Pro at $50/mo pays for itself at three. Below that, you can just pay $20 per file.
